We are Alpha CSI Chimney Sweeping & Inspections, a locally owned business serving the Kāpiti Coast, Horowhenua, Porirua, the Hutt Valley and Greater Wellington. We bring more than 20 years of combined industry experience to chimney cleaning, fireplace inspections and repairs.

Our Kāpiti chimney sweeping service covers wood burners, open fires and multi-fuel stoves. We work with homeowners, landlords and real estate agents, providing regular maintenance and investigating problems that affect fireplace performance. We also prepare detailed inspection reports for insurance purposes and property sales.

We look beyond the soot. When a fireplace smokes into a room or draws poorly, we can investigate airflow, dampers, chimney design and damaged components. Our services cover both cleaning and repairs, allowing us to address faults that a sweep alone may not resolve.

Alongside routine chimney care, we repair fireboxes, replace damaged flues, rebrick open fires and attend to worn or broken fireplace fittings. We also install, replace and remove wood burners. Our work covers an existing fireplace’s upkeep as well as changes to the appliance itself.

We take care inside your home, using drop cloths and high-powered vacuums to contain soot and debris during cleaning. We provide free quotes and explain the proposed work before we begin, so you know what the job involves.

Our chimney sweeping service removes soot, creosote and obstructions from flues. We include a visual check with every standard sweep. Most of our sweeping work takes place indoors, although some fireplace models require roof access.

We offer detailed inspections separately from the visual check included with routine cleaning. These inspections cover airflow, smoke testing and structural concerns, with checks of components such as baffle plates and flues. We carry out roof-level checks where needed.

When investigating smoke spilling into a room, poor draw or reduced performance, we consider more than whether the chimney needs cleaning. We can examine dampers, airflow and chimney design to investigate a continuing problem. We also provide written inspection reports when you need documentation for an insurance matter or property sale.

Our repair services cover several parts of the fireplace and chimney system:

• We repair damaged fireboxes and brickwork, including rebricking open fires.
• We repair or replace damaged flues and attend to cowls.
• We repair or replace components such as baffle plates, door seals and fireplace glass.

This range gives us scope to address damage within the fireplace as well as faults in the flue or its fittings. We explain the proposed repairs before starting rather than assume that cleaning alone will deal with a damaged component.

We remove bird nests from chimneys and fit stainless steel bird guards to help prevent repeat blockages. We can clear an existing obstruction and provide a guard to help reduce further nesting.

Our wood burner services include installation, replacement and removal. We can help when you are fitting a burner, changing an existing unit or removing one you no longer need. We also maintain wood burners through our sweeping, inspection and repair services.

Before a sweep, we ask you to leave the fireplace completely cold on the day and clear the space in front of it. We can advise beforehand when your fireplace model requires roof access. Our annual sweeping reminders help you keep track of regular maintenance.
